Write Us In is Rewrite the BiLine’s national community for bi+ storytellers, writers, artists, and changemakers, including our polyamorous bi+ community. We use the term "bi+" to include anyone who has the capacity to experience attraction to more than one gender or who are on the multiple attraction spectrum (M-spec), including people who identify as bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, plurisexual, biromantic, fluid, queer, another label, or no label at all.

Through fellowships, gatherings, and peer learning communities, we help people connect, create, and build the relationships needed to change narratives and expand belonging.

Write Us In Summit & Series

The Write Us In Summit began in 2024 in the backyard of Rewrite the BiLine's founder, where advocates, artists, and community leaders gathered to launch the first industry guide on bi+ representation. Today, it has grown into a bi-coastal series of free events bringing together hundreds of bi+ people and allies each year in New York City and West Hollywood.

Together, these events create space for connection, inspiration, visibility, and action. They have included panel discussions and performances from pop singer-songwriter EMELINE, NFL legend R.K. Russell, Tony-nominated Broadway actress Eden Espinosa, and the queen of queer media Tracy E. Gilchrist, among others, including Rose Montoya, Capri Campeau, Patrisse Cullors, Lucy & La Mer, Sarah Ann Masse, Nicole Pacent, Javier Rozenwasser, Chelsea Lee Byers, Dr. Megan Burke, Fatimah Hameed-Burne, Zachary Zane, Kalonjee Gallimore, and of course our very own Christina Fialho, Aaron Hammersley, and Rhiannon Ling.

Our 2026 Inaugural Write Us In Award recipient was actor Carlo Arrechea.

Write Us In Collective

The Write Us In Collective is a year-round community for bi+ and/or polyamorous storytellers who want to connect with others shaping culture through their work. Members connect through peer-led Tables: informal monthly gatherings, held virtually or over potluck-style meals, where people carve out dedicated time to write, share works in progress, exchange feedback, and support one another's creative journeys.

Throughout the year, members also participate in virtual learning sessions. These conversations offer practical tools, industry perspectives, and opportunities to learn from people who are actively shaping culture and driving change.

Some Tables are organized around creative disciplines like journalism, screenwriting, or theatre. Others are rooted in a shared geographic community. What brings them to the Table is the desire to find a community that helps them grow while reminding them they are not doing this work alone.

Write Us In Fellowships

Rewrite the BiLine’s annual fellowships bring together bi+ leaders committed to growth and bold storytelling.

Through our signature How to Shift the Narrative & Win Change Through Op-ed Publishing workshop, participants gain a strong foundation for impactful storytelling. With one-on-one mentorship, professional editing, and hands-on support, they develop op-eds and non-fiction essays that challenge stigma, deepen public understanding, and drive meaningful change.

Meet our 2025 Write Us In Fellows

These 11 fellows were selected from a competitive pool of applicants from the U.S., Canada, England, France, Germany, and India. They are emerging bi+ writers and thinkers, each bringing bold ideas and unique perspectives to today’s most pressing issues. Their writing will explore topics including trans rights, breastfeeding in the workplace, compulsory monogamy, tech for liberation, and how empathy can reshape travel—and much more. We thank the brilliant Ross Victory and Lois (Lake Faith) Shearing for their coaching support for this year's cohort.

Rose Montoya (she/they)

Rose is a renowned trans Latina advocate, educator, and award-winning content creator with over 1 million followers. She is a leading voice in trans rights, equity, and social justice. With over a decade of experience in digital strategy, media advocacy, and educational content creation—including her viral Trans 101 series—she has partnered with major organizations, consulted with the TSA on trans-inclusive policy, and educated millions on LGBTQ+ issues, mental health, and bodily autonomy.

A sought-after speaker and thought leader, Rose brings an intersectional lens to every space she enters, making advocacy accessible, impactful, and transformative. Rose is based in Los Angeles, California. Learn more at rosemontoya.com.

Kyle Hinton (he/they)

Kyle is an unapologetically Black nonbinary screenwriter from the suburbs of Chicago, who aspires to contribute imaginative and intersectional stories through sci-fi, horror, and fantasy genres.

After graduating from DePaul University with a degree in Film & TV Production, Kyle has worked on shows like Power Book IV: Force and the iCarly reboot for Paramount Plus. Kyle's horror-comedy pilot The Vampire Prince won WeScreenplay’s 2022 Diverse Voices lab, and their web series Naomi & Levi Take On The World is streaming on OTV and YouTube. They like to tackle social and interpersonal issues with heart and levity because they are over the trauma. Kyle is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Kiki Fehling, PhD (they/she)

Kiki is a licensed psychologist, writer, speaker, and Linehan-board-certified DBT therapist who specializes in LGBTQ+ mental health, suicide and self-harm, trauma, and borderline personality disorder. After witnessing the power of DBT in her own life and the lives of her clients, Kiki is passionate about sharing DBT's skills and wisdom with as many people as possible.

They share mental health info with their 70,000+ followers on social media @dbtkiki, and they are the author of Self-Directed DBT Skills: A 3-Month DBT Workbook (2023), DBT Cards For Coping Skills (2024), and the forthcoming The LGBTQ+ Mental Health Workbook (planned 2026). Kiki is based in Northampton, MA, USA.

Bénédicte Bicaba (she/her/elle)

Béné is the Founder of Empathy Travels, a transformative travel company that fosters deeper human connections through immersive experiences. Rooted in the concept of “unsettled empathy,” Empathy Travels designs journeys that challenge assumptions, inspire introspection, and cultivate meaningful engagement with local communities.

With ten years of experience in program management, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and stakeholder engagement, Béné has led impactful initiatives across global health, policy, and social impact sectors. She has worked with organizations such as the Gates Foundation, Planned Parenthood, and Muso Health, focusing on equity-driven solutions and sustainable development. She holds a Master of Science in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from The London School of Economics & The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Béné is based in Seattle, Washington.

Enjay DeGuzman (she/her)

Enjay is a queer, polyamorous writer and high school English teacher of Filipina and Pennsylvania Dutch descent. She has a BSE in English Education, an MA in English, and is currently pursuing her MFA at Rosemont College.

Her poetry has appeared in Fruitslice and t'ART so far. Lately, she's been writing about queerness, femmehood, and how the stories we tell ourselves can limit and liberate. Enjay is based outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Follow along with her on Instagram: @enjaydeguzman.

Samu/elle Striewski (they/them)

Samu/elle is a drag artist, bi+ activist, and the first German non-binary person to get awarded the Rhodes Scholarship to continue their graduate studies in political theory at the University of Oxford. Previously, they studied social philosophy, comparative literature, and mathematics in Berlin, Frankfurt, Paris, and New York City.

From 2023 to 2025, Samu/elle was a board member of the German Bisexual Network and they still serve as co-editor of the association's journal. In 2024, they initiated and co-organized the first Euro Bi+ Assembly that brought together scholars, activists, and community members to exchange ideas and experiences on the topic of bi+ politics. Currently, they co-edit a book anthology on the contemporary drag scene in Germany. Samu/elle is based in Oxford, England.

Ysanne Raye (they/she)

Ysanne is a self-affirmed Black movement artist, writer and Library and Information Science master’s student at the University of Illinois. They are pursuing cultural archiving and work that prioritizes marginalized voices. Over the past five years, Ysanne has researched and written essays focused on the concept of Blackness, Hip Hop authenticity in Asian countries, Black librarianship, and de-centering whiteness in music collections.

With the support of Rewrite the BiLine, Ysanne plans to explore the intersectionality of Black self, gender fluidity and the bi+ace spectrum. Their next major writing project will surround Black feminism during the Neo-soul movement.

Additionally, they are working on the choreography for their first dance visual. After graduation, Ysanne will continue to write about art, life’s troubles and being “Blackity-Black.” Currently, Ysanne is based in Illinois and will be relocating to Los Angeles, CA.

Kate Andrews (she/they)

Kate is relationship anarchy’s answer to Bridget Jones, the poor man’s Carey Mulligan, and the non-drinker’s Elizabeth Taylor. As an actor, director, and emerging writer, their work spans acclaimed institutions such as the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare North Playhouse, as well as appearances at UK & international film festivals and on national television. Their creative practice challenges dominant narratives surrounding gender, neurodivergence, and sexuality, exposing the societal violence often directed at nonconformity of all forms.

She is currently developing a television sitcom that centers & celebrates healthy non-monogamous relationships. Their previous writing includes lifestyle and culture content for the former literature blog The Attic on Eighth, reflections on neuroqueering for Magical Women Art, and Shakespeare for the many. Kate is based in London & Merseyside, United Kingdom, and is an ambassador for Lotus Collaborations and Hire Survivors Hollywood.

Apurupa Vatsalya (she/they)

Apurupa is a gender justice lawyer-turned-sexuality educator, queer rights and mental health advocate, and digital storyteller. With over a decade of experience across SRHRJ programming, intersectional feminist advocacy, and interfaith organizing, their work spans global and grassroots spaces—from UN advocacy to digital campaigns that challenge stigma and center pleasure, safety, and autonomy. They are currently the Advocacy Officer at GIN-SSOGIE, where they anchor regional and international policy engagement rooted in decolonial, anti-caste, and queer-affirming frameworks.

Apurupa also is the founder of @inapurupriate, a digital platform that has reached 19k+ followers by blending feminist pedagogy with sass, accessibility, and unapologetic queer politics. They co-founded Bibliotherapy, India’s first reading-based therapeutic support group, and have authored and contributed to publications with Find My Method, UN Women, and Independent Thought. As a proud neuroqueer, disabled, and nonbinary person, Apurupa brings a trauma-informed and disability-affirmative lens to everything they do. Apurupa is based in Bengaluru, India.

Bailey Merlin (she/her)

Bailey Merlin is the author of A Lot of People Live in This House, the co-host of the podcast Bisexual Killjoy, the founder of the writers' group, the Bi+ Book Gang, and a dedicated bi+ advocate. She holds an MFA in fiction from Butler University and an MS in Media, Medicine, and Health from Harvard Medical School.

Her writing and activism investigate the intersection of community and health, especially as it pertains to bi+ populations. She is based in Boston, Massachusetts.

Alice Muitoevoli Rugai (any/all)

Alice is an enby bisexual (Enbi) based in Berlin, Germany, but originally from Italy. Their work often blends sharp wit, political insight, and a passion for queer themes. Some of their plays are represented in Germany by the publishing house S. Fischer.
Coming from a working-class background, Rugai has pursued extensive academic training. They hold a Bachelor's degree in Literature and Languages from the Università di Pisa and a Master's degree in Theatre Science (Theaterwissenschaft) from the Freie Universität in Berlin. They are currently completing a second degree in Writing for the Stage at the Universität der Künste. In addition to their creative work, Rugai is employed as a student assistant at their university's Department of Diversity and Antidiscrimination and teaches Italian in the evenings.

Multilingual, they speak Italian, English, German, and conversational Spanish. They write primarily in German and English, and occasionally in Italian. Though their schedule leaves little room for leisure, Rugai remains deeply engaged in academic and activist communities.

Meet our 2024 Write Us In Fellows

Rewrite the BiLine helped publish 20 articles by 12 bi+ writers in 2024, thanks in part to our partnership with LA Progressive and Hollywood Progressive as well as catalytic funding from Echoing Green. These pieces explored race, culture, and identity, bringing much-needed bi+ perspectives to the forefront.
